Also since the remodel, much more commodity stuff that I can get cheaper at the big box stores. Much less selection, and the clerks grumble about it. Went in for a,couple of specific O rings. It was buy the pack of mixed o

Stores like this survive by providing convenience and service. And they have to be efficient. I'll happily pay a little more for that. So far HH, now part of Central Network Retail Group, is rarely worth the extra (a cashier the other day as I was checking out with the screen part saw the old ACE sticker and said she and others hear similar complaints and pass them on to management with little result.

I,m building a large deck, call Toya at Hiawassee hardware, there pricing are the same as home dept, but better product.

Called to ask about about a product was transferred 4 times and when we finally got to the front desk the lady told us she didn't know really at least tell me you can look it up for me.

And the builder I'm using had to get some last-minute lumber today. Cane back over an hour later saying he'll never go there again if he can help it.

So I just save up a list and head to Home Depot. I'd rather shop locally. Hope HH can get its act together.

sizes or nothing. Clerk apologetic about "not carrying what we used to." So over to a store in Hayesville that still allows you to buy just what you need. Same friendly clerk had to dig around in back the other day to find a part for hanging screens. Still had the old ACE sticker. Common part, but nowhere to be found in the screening display.

Always had a good experience here when I've shopped. Much closer trip than home depot. Some items are less expensive than home depot, some more. But I like the small town feel of a local hardware over the big box store. Great job Hiawassee Hardware

Very expensive you can drive 20 minutes and save a bundle. For RB&B it was $10.00 a sheet higher than mountain builders in Blairsville. Since it changed hands about 2 years ago they were going to give military discounts it has never happened, and prices keep going up.

The store is much better since the remodel, but while I'm rooting for them, there's still lots to be desired. Service is,at best uneven and when you can find someone, I've been grumbled at more than smiled at, but mostly just waved to another part of the store. At times very inefficient. Case in point. Just needed a couple 2x4s. Took slip back to lumber warehouse across street. Guy had to stop cutting lumber, walk halfway back and shout the order to another guy who eventually emerged from the shadows with a couple of boards slung over his shoulder. Ever heard of walkie talkies or order slip printers in the warehouse?
